The Ridgegear RGA4 is a three way retrieval block fitted with an up/down winch mechanism and the standard fall arrest capability. Where a person is required to enter a confined space, it is essential that a method of mechanical recovery is available to retrieve the person in the event of an incident. The Ridgegear RGA4 provides a fall arrest system that stops the person in the event of a fall, combined with a recovery winch that enables support personnel on the surface to recover the injured person back to the surface safely. Fall Arrest + Safety Winch The Ridgegear RGA4 is commonly utilised as a standard fall arrest block, but in the event of a fall, the operative can be winched up or down to safety almost immediately. Operating a fall arrest block with an internal winch is a major advantage of standard fall arrest blocks. In the event of a fall, the operative can be raised quickly. The RGA4 can also be fitted to the Ridgegear RGR1 tripod for use in the confined access industry. When working in confined space applications, the Ridgegear RGH5 harness featuring a rescue strap should be utilised, keeping the operative in a near vertical position, which is preferred when recovering an unconscious casualty. The central housing is cast alloy to provide maximum protection and robust. The carrying handle is integrated into the cast case to add strength whilst providing a convenient anchorage point for soft slings. Man-Riding The man-riding rescue retrieval winch function is for use only as a rescue provision, for the purpose of lowering and raising engineers and equipment. Where an operative is required to be lowered / raised for access / egress, the Ridgegear RGR7 Man Riding Winch should be utilised. Working length: 15 metres
